Red Dot Design Museum Singapore sits in a full glass facade building located along the Marina Bay Waterfront Promenade. Designed by Cox Architects, the museum takes on a strong geometrical form and comprises of playful composition of structural steel elements and large overhanging roofs. It is a must visit if you are keen on architecture and design.
The museum is a popular attraction in Singapore, at the Marina Bay and it is the only museum in Singapore that closes late at 11 p.m. on weekends (Fri to Sun). There are more than two levels of exhibition spaces in the museum. The exhibitions are often curated from the results of the Red Dot Design Award. These award winning design works are a result of carefully selection by an international jury panel of experts in design. The search for good design often spans more than 60 countries and involved altogether, more than 80 jury members. Periodically, the exhibition gallery on the first level is also used for short term collaboration with designers or for special exhibitions.

The museum's cafe blends into its design surroundings where award winning objects such as glasswares, lamps and stools can be found. Traditional recipes such as the Singapore Laksa, Hainanese Chicken Rice and Beef Rendang are redesigned into graphic design projects in the form of cubes by Food Anatomy. Here, your good design experience is holistic, where design meets culinary and delicious is simply not enough.

Red Dot Design Museum is located at the heart of Singapore's most iconic district, the Marina Bay. Just metres away from the waterfront, the museum sits like a jewel box along the promenade, envelope by an impressive city skyline. This area is one of the most fun places and interesting destinations to visit and for sightseeing in Singapore, with numerous attractions within walk distance from the museum. In its immediate neighbourhood, within 10 minutes walking distances are Gardens by the Bay, Merlion Park, Art Science Museum, and Marina Bay Sands. Red Dot Design Museum at Marina Bay welcomes it's first group of visitors, winners of the 2017 Red Dot Award for Design Concept on the 18th Oct 2017. More than 500 guests from 23 nations visited the museum for the first time that night. Alan Lim, a renowned photographer, captured this significant moment beautifully with his photography.

Since 2006, Red Dot Design Museum has been organising MAAD, the Market of Artists And Designers. This is a grassroots initiative to promote local designers and artists by giving them a platform to show and sell their original works to the public. Today, MAAD is the largest and most successful creative marketplace and attracts thousands of patrons at each installation.
