Maxwell Food Centre

1 Kadayanallur Street, Singapore 069184

Starting off as a wet market for the Chinatown area in the 1950s, Maxwell Food Centre is now one of the most frequented food centres by both tourists and locals. Choose from an extensive variety of local authentic Singaporean cuisine with 3 back-to-back rows of over a 100 stalls. Despite its rustic exterior, the food centre boasts of a sensory experience inside that feeds happy food-goers. Stallholders are still working there through the generations and one of Singapore's most famous chicken rice stall has even beaten Gordon Ramsey in a culinary cook off.

With a wide array of affordable local food, expect it to be crowded any time of the day as Maxwell Food Centre sits in the Central Business District and on the edge of the Chinatown streets.
